On and Off the Wall: Encaustic Printmaking Exhibition
Curated by Kathleen Lemoine
Tuesday through Friday 10am-5pm // Weekends 12-5pm 225-389-7180
Reception: March 24, 2012, 6-8pm
Participating artists: David A. Clark (California), Dorothy Furlong Gardner (Louisiana), Kathleen Lemoine (Louisiana), Laura Moriarty (New York), Paula Roland (New Mexico), and Toby Sisson (Massachusetts).
Come view the works of 6 artists united by a love for Encaustic printmaking. Encaustic prints are made on a heated plate with pigmented wax, an experimental process that is not limited to two dimensional works in this exhibition. Curator and local artist, Kathleen Lemoine will demonstrate the basic encaustic monotype process and talk about the exhibiting artists’ work. She will be sharing her new “fortunate landscapes”.
